Founded J&J Maintenance, Inc.

J&J Maintenance Inc. was founded in 1970 as an 8(a) Small Disadvantaged Business enterprise when two (2) business competitors, Johnny Voudouris and James Lee (the two ‘J’s in J&J) joined forces to launch a company focused on providing quality, cost–effective custodial services for the U.S. Government customer.

Janitorial Services

In 1971, J&J was awarded their first janitorial services contract at Bergstrom AFB in Austin, TX.

Operations & Maintenance

In 1982, J&J was awarded their first hospital Operations & Maintenance services contract at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH) in Fort Campbell, KY.

Aircraft Maintenance

In 1983, J&J was awarded a contract to provide aircraft maintenance at Fort Hood, the Army’s Premier Installation to train and deploy heavy forces.

Healthcare Environmental Services

In 1986, J&J was awarded their first hospital Environmental Services contract.

Family Housing O&M

In 1986, J&J was awarded their first Family Housing O&M contract.

Commercial O&M

In 1987, J&J was awarded their first Commercial O&M contract.

Graduated 8(a) Program

In 1989, J&J graduated from the 8(a) Business Development Program through the Small Business Administration, which provides business assistance for small disadvantaged businesses.

Classified as Large Business

In 1990, J&J became classified as a Large Business, exceeding the small business size code standards established by the Small Business Administration as set forth in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 13, Part 121.

Mission Support Solutions

In 1993, J&J started providing Mission Support Solutions.

Engineering Solutions

In 1996, J&J started providing Engineering Solutions.

ISO 9001 Quality Management System

In 2000, J&J was accredited to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 Quality Management System.

Brooke Army Medical Center (O&M)

In 2001, J&J was awarded the Operations & Maintenance services contract at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in Ft. Sam Houston, TX, the Department of Defense’s only Level 1 Trauma Center.

GSA Schedule Contract & FEMA Superdome Decontamination

The Louisiana Superdome was used as a “shelter of last resort” for those in New Orleans unable to evacuate from the city when Hurricane Katrina struck on August 29, 2005. J&J was tasked with cleaning up the facility that sheltered approximately 10,000 residents, along with about 150 National Guardsmen.

Re-branded to J&J Worldwide Services

In 2009, J&J re-branded from J&J Maintenance, Inc. to J&J Worldwide Services.

DeCA Commissaries

In 2010, J&J was award a contract to provide routine and on–demand mission–critical facility maintenance and repair services to Defense Commissary (DeCA) sites, allocated into Maintenance Groups that reach across the U.S. as well as Puerto Rico and Guam.

Brooke Army Medical Center (ENVS)

In 2011, J&J was awarded the Environmental Services
contract at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in Ft.
Sam Houston, TX, the Department of Defense’s only Level 1
Trauma Center

ISSA CIMS–GB Certification

In 2011, J&J became certified to the ISSA (The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association) Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS)–GB Certification “Certified With Honors.

Regional Health Command Europe

In 2015, J&J was awarded the Operations & Maintenance contract for the Regional Health Command Europe at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.

In 2017, J&J was awarded the Operations & Maintenance contract at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Bethesda, MD (also known as the President’s Hospital).

U.S. Naval Station Rota, Spain

In 2021, J&J was awarded a Base Operation Support Services contract at U.S. Naval Station Rota, Spain.

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth

In 2022, J&J won the largest individual project awarded through the Department of the Army - Huntsville Center, Corps of Engineers Medical & Repair & Renewal Branch (Naval Medical Center Portsmouth Building 2 – Surgical & Pediatric Intensive Care Modernization in Portsmouth, VA).

Influx Care Facilities

In 2023, J&J was awarded a seat on the Health and Human Services (HHS) multiple–award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to support the HHS Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). This IDIQ contract has a ceiling value of $75B for a duration of 10 years with a base period of five (5) years and one (1), five (5) year option. The contract allows J&J to participate in Full–Service Influx Care Facility (ICF) task order opportunities for the three (3) task areas under this IDIQ: Direct Care, Facilities Management, and Wrap Around Services.

As of February 27, 2024, CBRE Group, Inc., the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm and a Fortune 500 and S&P 500 company, completed the acquisition of J&J Worldwide Services, integrating J&J into CBRE’s Global Workplace Solutions segment and their Infrastructure, Defense, and Public Enterprise (IDPE) sector.

ISO 45001:2018 Certified Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Management System

J&J is accredited to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Management System. It provides a framework for J&J to manage risks and improve OH&S performance. Key elements include leadership commitment, worker participation, hazard identification and risk assessment, legal and regulatory compliance, emergency planning, incident investigation and continual improvement. J&J utilizes the Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology to systematically manage health and safety risks.
